Infrared thermal bond bituminous pavement patching is a method of blending new hot mix asphalt with infrared heated blacktop to create a joint-free integral patch. The machine is capable of heating the existing blacktop to a depth of approximately two inches without oxidizing or burning. There is no flame in direct contact with the existing blacktop surface. The entire process, to do 1 patch, takes approximately 6-15 minutes and can be opened up to traffic shortly afterwards. Thermal bond patching can be done even when asphalt plants are not operating. We can store asphalt mix in our insulated hot boxes and the mix can be heated when needed for use. Infrared thermal bond bituminous pavement patching can be used to repair pot holes, alligator cracked areas, trip hazards, deteriorated paving seams, broken asphalt around manhole covers, and railroad crossings.
