Pavement is chalk snapped at 40' interval. Riding Saws are used to create cut.

 

 

Cut is blown and torched to prepare a clean, dry surface to which sealant will adhere.

Breaker bond installed to help avoid sunken joint filler.

 

 

Hot crack sealant is applied to fill saw cut and filled flush.

The saw and seal method can also be used on concrete. Joints are sawn and widened to ¼â€$ to ½â€$ and cut approximately 1 ¼â€$ deep. Cleaning consists of pressure washing, sandblasting and air drying. Breaker bond is only used if necessary. Hot pour or silicone sealant is used.
