Step 1:

Select a proper stockpile site for aggregates on an asphalt or concrete pad to minimize contamination. The site must be close to potable water source such as fire hydrants.

Step 2:

Traffic control and notify residents: All roads must be closed to traffic for extended periods of time for slurry to properly cure. Residents are notified verbally or by hanging notifications on their front door.

Step 3:

Clean and prep the surface: Sweep, blow or, in extremely dirty conditions, wash the surface.

Step 4:

Protect the utilities: Manholes and water shutoffs are covered prior to applying slurry. They are marked to ensure relocation in the clean up phase.

Step 5:

If needed, tack coat is applied to loose asphalt, raveled areas or concrete surfaces.

Step 6:

Slurry is applied at 1/8â€$ to 3/8â€$ thick. If more than one pass is required the first pass is required to dry to ensure a smooth joint.

Step 7:

After the slurry has dried, the utilities are uncovered and streets are cleaned.

Step 8:

Traffic control barriers are picked up and the roadway is opened for normal traffic.
