With the rising cost of materials and limited funding, Micro Surfacing and Slurry Seal cover more surface area with less money and provide the best surface quality.
These seals provide superior wet pavement friction and better traction in freezing conditions. The effective macro texture improves tire contact with the pavement in wet conditions and retains road salts longer for better ice control.

Slurry Seal is a mixture of emulsified asphalt, well graded fine aggregates, mineral filler (or other additives) and water. It is used to renew pavement surfaces and retard moisture/air intrusion into underlying pavement. Slurry seal is applied from 1/8â€$ to 3/8â€$ thick and will fill minor cracks, restore a uniform texture and restore friction loss.
Micro Surfacing is a mixture of polymer modified asphalt emulsion, crushed dense graded aggregate, mineral filler, additives and water. This treatment provides resurfacing from 3/8â€$ to 3/4â€$ thick and returns traffic use in one hour under average conditions. This can be applied in multiple applications and provide minor reprofiling. This treatment can also fill wheel ruts up to 1 1/2â€$ in depth in one pass and produces high surface friction. Micro Surfacing is suitable for use on airport runways, interstate highways, as well as residential streets.
